Adjusting a 42" plasma HDTV - Some tips for you

Imagine the size of a 42" plasma HDTV television in your living room. Now imagine yourself in a movie theater and ask yourself where you would rather be watching the movie - at home or in the theater. With a HDTV plasma television, this can be your experience when you invest in a big screen TV.

There are some tips to keep in mind about where you place the television in your room and it doesn't matter whether you have a Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, or Samsung HDTV Plasma television. The key is to have the television arranged so that you are watching the screen at eye level.

Most of the manufacturers have the TV you buy set at the highest level of brightness. This may not be suitable for your home and you have to adjust the controls yourself to bring in a sharp image. You might also have to calibrate the television so that it matches your viewing preferences. Adjusting and calibrating the controls on a big screen TV is a time consuming task, but it is something that you can do yourself. You don't have to call in a technician to do the work for you, but it may well be worth the extra cost to have it done by a professional.

It is also possible to choose a screen size that is too large for your room. For most rooms, the 42' is the acceptable size. You would really need quite a large room to watch a 61" screen in comfort. If you are sitting too close the high definition TV will certainly show its flaws. If you have a wall projection TV, a white wall is not the best viewing choice. This is because the whiteness of the wall reflects the light and bright colors will not be displayed as true colors.

If you do decide to call in a professional to adjust the settings on the high definition TV, make sure that the technician is certified to do so.   You don't want to end up with a poorly adjusted TV that causes your family no end of trouble!
